Fundraising Tradeshow Campaign Earns Recognition From Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association
Plymouth Meeting, PA (June 5, 2018) – A direct marketing campaign with a rock-and-roll twist has earned Strata Company its third Benny award from the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association, one of the region’s highest honors in direct marketing and advertising.
Strata developed the winning campaign to connect with attendees of the 2017 CASE Conference, an annual forum for fundraising professionals. Nonprofit marketing is one of Strata’s niche specialties: The company offers highly segmented, data-driven fundraising programs supported by in-house creative, print and mailing services.

About the Campaign
“Results Amplified” took a laidback, fun approach that reflects Strata’s goals of standing out and capturing attention – and demonstrates how the company can help clients do the same. Objectives included building brand awareness and starting conversations with attendees that would generate qualified leads.
Creative and Messaging
Strata offered an Amazon Echo raffle as incentive, with creative themes of cutting through the noise to amplify results woven through campaign elements as a relevant tie-in.
“Our challenge was to find a way to build enough interest to attract booth visitors, since CASE attendees tend to be more interested in education sessions than in meeting with vendors,” says Katrina Denk, Marketing Director for Strata. “We aimed for components with fresh appeal that would stand out, but also stay on message, addressing pain points and telling attendees how our services can help alleviate their day-to-day stress.”
Strata generated interest with a pre-conference direct mailer, segmented emails, landing pages and a news release. Social media posts teased the upcoming event and kept followers updated during and after the conference. Post-conference, a mix of traditional direct marketing outreach and digital touches were used to stay in touch and nurture leads.
The campaign drew higher-than-average response rates and resulted in 11% of booth visitors converting to new customers, achieving 2:1 ROI.
